  1. This Bible Bee has been such an encouragement to me!!! it gets me in the Word more every day, and you can never stop learning what the Bible has to say to you! Even if you do Bible Bee Primary through Senior, you will not have out-learned the Bible! That means I can keep on studying and I have no excuse to stop! Yeah! I am so looking forward to next year!

  2. God has done so much in my life through Bible Bee. Looking back, my heart is so endebted with thankfulness for all of it. The Lord Almighty's Word is so much more powerful, so much more alive and sharpening to me than anything else. He alone has, in his unique power and wisdom, the strength to transform lives. He sure continued to transform mine throughout the course of the Bible Bee last fall, and to burn an imprinting passion in me for hearing his words, hearing him speak! During Bible Bee, He has brought such wonderful friends into my life, including whole families with which to fellowship. He has turned my heart closer to Him, and that is something amazingly holy unlike anything else. Bible Bee is not just an "experience." Bible Bee is a powerful, ongoing encounter and precious walk with God, whether during the actual competition times or during the rest of the year as Bible Bee contestents stay close to each other and in His Word. "Get involved" is not just a measely fake advertisement. "Get involved" is a call from God to draw closer to Him.
"Therefore tell the people: This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Return to me,' declares the LORD Almighty, 'and I will return to you,' says the LORD Almighty." Zechariah 1:3

  3. Through the Bible Bee, I met my best friend.
At the 2009 National Bible Bee, I kept running into this girl named Hope.
She came over to our hotel room once, where we exchanged phone numbers, addresses, etc.
We wrote letters for a bit, and I called her about one year ago, asking her if she was doing the Bible Bee again. Turns out she was! We talked a lot for the next few months. Now she is my best friend in this whole entire world, despite the fact that she lives in Florida and I live in Pennsylvania.

Without her, I don't know what I would do. God definitely blessed me with the gift of friendship!

  5. Hey Carissa!
Yes, studying God's Word is such a foundation for our lives! Keep focused on the Lord and how he wants to use what you learn in your life! Don't give up, either, if you ever feel alone! Keep pressing on, and you will not regret it! I pray that God would strengthen you and make your life a pleasing sacrifice to him, that his redemption of you would not be in vain!

  9. Wow! Who knew what three months of in-depth Bible study and memerization could do for one's soul! God has blessed so much over the summer with the Bible Bee. I loved waking up in the morning and beginning my day learning about God and how to live for Him. In fact, Saturday mornings were always a disappointment since there was no Sword Study planned for them! It's also amazing to have scripture running through your head all day. The slightest thing would remind me of a verse. My heart definately changed over the summer, though I'm still struggling to make my actions change.
Even though I strived to make it to Nationals, even if I don't make it, I wouldn't have traded praticipating in the Bible Bee for any other way of spending my summer. And I pray that I and everyone else who participated will really apply all that we learned to our lives.

To God be the glory! Great things He has done!

For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; ~ Colosians 1:9-10

  10. One thing I realized in myself this year was a lack of confidence in God's work through me. When I do well, I should be able to say "Praise God!" That's how it should be!
Also, being in Nashville renewed my view of what unity and fellowship in the church look like.
